Default How many miles on Amsoil??

I have a 2005 Heritage softail with 7000 miles. I changed the factory oil and the primary oil at 1000 miles and again at 3000 miles. At the 3000 mile change I went with Amsoil in both the primary and the engine oil. I have heard many different opinions as to how many miles should be ran before change the Amsoil but opinions is not what I am looking for. Does anyone know, for a fact, the number of miles the Amsoil manufacturers recommend between oil changes? My riding conditions are normal.

5k,All three compartments.(engine.trans.pri)Amsoil's offical recommendation is to follow manf.sugessted mileage, which would be H-D....H-D states 5k with syn.All compartments,2500 engine with convential oil,5k trans and primary fluids.

I would go to the Amsoil website if I wanted a honest opinion. I had a dealer tell me he runs 20,000 on his ultra. A little extreme for me. Some HD dealers sell it, find one and ask them. Start a poll here. You will get all kinds of answers. Myself, I run 20/50 for 5,000. What I like about Amsoil is, I can go a lot farther if I need to and not worry about the oil until I can change it. JAO (just another opinion)

From the Amsoil website:

SERVICE LIFE
Recommended for use up to twice the motorcycle manufacturer change interval (miles/hours) or one year, whichever comes first, in engines, transmissions and primary chaincases. For Big Twin Harley-Davidson transmissions only, follow the Harley-Davidson recommended drain interval for synthetic oil of up to 20,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. When using an engine filter other than AMSOIL Ea, change the filter at standard intervals.

A friend of mine uses Amsoil in his '05 road king, and routinely runs it between 8-10 k between changes. His bike runs as good as anyone else s with over 25k on the clock.,,
