How many miles on Amsoil??
#11
From the Amsoil website:
SERVICE LIFE
Recommended for use up to twice the motorcycle manufacturer change interval (miles/hours) or one year, whichever comes first, in engines, transmissions and primary chaincases. For Big Twin Harley-Davidson transmissions only, follow the Harley-Davidson recommended drain interval for synthetic oil of up to 20,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. When using an engine filter other than AMSOIL Ea, change the filter at standard intervals.

Most riders don't even put 10k a yr on their bike so they should be changed at least once each yr.
I have a couple friends that change all three and filter @ 2500 miles on their 88's with dyno oil..both of them have over 40k on theirs and nether have had issues. other than tensioners.
My 96 manual says change 5kmotor, 10kprimary, 20ktranny, even with Syn oil.
The first 4 changes I did all three every 5k, but the last one toward the end of last summer I just did motor...only put 8k on her last yr.
changing the motor at 5k, then changing the primary every 5k, and the tranny at 10 would be 1/2 of what the MOCO recommends on these two. Could go longer and probably be ok, but I and others just don't because the Air cooled can be harder on the oils.
