If I didn't have xm on the bike I would. I was thinking about not renewing the xm on the bike and just use slacker radio or something but I don't like that I wouldn't be able to change the stations with my gloves on

A few years ago I bought a new car that came with a paid subscription to XM radio. I thought it was pretty cool and wound up renewing for another year. During that year I decided that I didn't use the radio enough to justify the $100+ cost. As my subscription was about to expire I got a call from an XM marketer asking if I wanted to renew. When I told him it cost too much he offered to renew me for a year for $50.00. I said wait a minute..... if I had just said yes I want to renew you would have billed me $100.00 when all along you knew you could do it for $50.00? He hee hummed and hawed for a minute and I told him what he could do with his XM radio subscription. I haven't missed it one bit and I don't listen to music or the radio when I'm on the bike.

I just bought a 2009 SG on July 31st. I have had an iPhone since the 3G came out and use it every time I get on my bike.
The first this I bought was a cable to plug my iPhone into the radio. I live in an area of Ohio were there are not many radio selections until you get around the Cleveland or Columbus area and then it is still limited.
Plugging in my iPhone is one of the first things I do when I get on my bike. I have only used the built in iPod player on the bike and it still loud and clear at 75-80 mph with Rush Slip-Ons. I would say using my iPhone is at least 10% louder than the radio. Plus I have the option of tweaking the built in equalizer.
I have not been able to use Pandora or AOL radio without a Wi-Fi connection and I don't have 3G in my area.
My next upgrade will be one of the aftermarket decks that will charge the iPhone while plugged in and allow you to use the stock controls to switch songs.

I don't have XM but I do have an Iphone with lots of music on it. In addition, I added the Navigon navagation application, ordered a handle bar mount from Ram-Mount.com, plugged my Iphone up to my cigarette charger and to my AUX input and everything works grea on my 2009 Ultra.

I don't have an iphone, but I use Pandora and Slacker on my BlackBerry. the 3G coverage is excellent. I also have XM Radio, but I don't have it hooked up to my bike. Without the external antenna, I don't get good reception. The built in one sucks on my Inno.
