Clutch cable install was the biggest pain ever.

Are you saying the ball end of the cable you ground or the pivot bushing that goes on the ball end of the cable and into the lever? Yes some pics would help.
So I was installing a magnum shielding clutch cable the other day... Everything was fine hooking it up to the transmission but when it came to hooking it on the leavers..my hell. These levers are aftermarket by the way... They seem well made but have no name or number stamped anywhere I could see. So the pivot end of the cable would not fit in the lever and be centered for the pin. I had to grind on the round pivot end of the cable (length width and height) to make this fit because the end on this cable was slightly thicker in all demestions as apposed to the old cable I pulled off. I'm pissed because i'm sure this grinding compromised the strength of the cable some.
I was so frustrated, has anyone had this problem? Thoughts or comments?

I'm with gumby (Gump to everyone esle), I'd suspect you might have installed either the wrong cable or the wrong lever. Somethin don't sound quite right...
I also would not have done any 'altering' of a brand new cable. I'd call the company first to see if perhaps they sent the wrong part number?

Ya checked the part number. Matched it up the the old one and everything measured out exact. But I failed to notice that the pivot end (loop end) was thicker than my original one. Therefor didn't fit into the slot of the lever.
