Question for flush mount gas gauge owners
When I first installed my gauge my gas was pretty low, & the last led light was flashing. I momentarily disconnected it to make sure my connection was tight, & then it quite flashing. Question, is the last led supposed to flash when the tank has less than a gallon or so left?

I'm on my second gauge and no led's ever flash. Not very accurate either, unless the battery is low, then it works great. The little gas pump in the middle disappears pretty quick too.

By disappear I mean gone, never to return. I thought my led's and the pump were burning out, but in august my stator was going bad. Whenever the battery got low, all the lights and pump came on like when new. After replacing the stator, back to normal. Full tank is 6 leds instead of 7 and no gas pump. The first one I had was about the same. Replace under warrantee after the chrome chipped.
Oh yeah, the gas cap will probably break apart too. The new ones are stamped with different writing inside. Made in Germany. Musta been the east side.

No flashing leds. Mine had 7 leds and a gas pump for the first week. The gas pump went away first and then the first led quit working. Now I have six leds when full and about a gallon and a half when the last led goes out. The dealer said tough tootsies even tho the freakin thing cost $200 and lasted less the a month. I just go by miles now.

I have always gone by miles travelled ever since my first motorcycle but I do have this flush mount gauge on my current bike. It was on the bike when I bought it and I never had a manual to refer to but it seems to work fine. All seven lights are lit when full and if I remember correctly the gas pump appears when one needs to refuel. I know something different happened when I was about out of gas just can't remember for sure if it was the gas pump or maybe a blinking light. I usually refuel before 200 miles.
My gas cap did come apart once but has not happened again.

OPERATION
See Figure 11. When the gauge receives power, all the blue
LEDs (1) will illuminate and will turn off one at a time until the
approximate fuel level in the tank is displayed.
The fuel pump icon (2) is illuminated at all times during operation.
The fuel pump icon is not a low fuel level warning light.
The photocell (3) senses ambient light level and will dim the
fuel pump icon and LEDs in low light conditions.
