My 07 did use some oil, about a fourth of a quart, between the 1,000 and 5,000 mile change but since then doesn't show enough of a drop to add any.
So is this.

OK 1peter here is the exact answer you were looking for. My bike doesn't burn any oil between oil changes. I change oil every 5,000 miles. Oh and I run it a half quart low and my bike runs no hotter.

I have run my bike lower on oil when it had 2000 miles on it to see if it made a difference, it did not. Although, i will try it again now that the engine has some more miles on it. I'm not trying to be a smart ***, i just wanted to keep the subject simple so we did not get into debates over all types of advice on oil usage that just complicates things. Thanks for your thoughts.

I figured i would mixed it up a bit....60% srious and 40% smart ***...

My sportster used 1/2 a quart of oil between changes but i was surprised to see no use on the Big twin with all the crap i had heard about big Harleys...I have been nothing but satisfied with my bike...I also ride the crap out of it whenever i have a chance to ...

Default My 09 FLHRC uses about a liter every 5000k

So don't you worry one bit. These things breath and fire nonstop so some oil has to out the pipe too.
