Default Laconia Motorcycle Week

I am originally from NH and still have relatives there but I have been gone for 24 years now except for the occasional visit while on leave. I have never been to Laconia Motorcycle Week yet but I went to Wiers beach as a child. Since I will be stationed at Fort Drum NY once again I would like to go to Laconia this year if my schedule permits.

How have you that have gone recently liked Laconia? Is it worth the trip?

I will already have a place to stay with family that is about 45 minutes away and it would not be a problem for me to ride there every day.

I just want to know if it is worth going. Thanks.

I'd say yes. It's probably one of the oldest bike week's and your proximity to it will make it all the more desirable...

It's a good time, just remember your rain gear. Seems it rains every year lately.

Don't expect to get too much riding in if you're staying around the Weirs. Lots of traffic. Once you get away and head up I-93 or up Rt 25 towards the White Mountains the riding gets much better and without the traffic.

Yeah, I figured that it would be crowded there at Weirs. I will probably go up the Kangamangus Highway for some great riding. I have not been up there for years and the scenery is awsome especially in the fall but it is nice all year round. Thanks.

I've been the last 3 years.

Yea, it's worth it.

We have family about 25 minutes away from Laconia, so it's a good time to visit and we have a place to stay. Love the riding up there.

People in that area of NH love bike week. Still lots of lawn sitters that wave as you go by. None of the BS that started in Myrtle Beach.

Wasn't for me. Not a fan of huge crowds anyway. It's more of a family event, kids running around, and Weirs beach is nothing but a giant t-shirt stand. It was my first bike week, last year. Maybe I'll go back this year, maybe I just didn't hit the right spots.

I have a place about 20 miles south of Wiers....Been going up for about 10 yrs...on and off...depending on weather...Live in RI about a 2hr 15 minute ride...Last year weather was rain, rain, rain.....and I didn't go.....But, if you are from N.H. you realize how nice the riding can be.....I go up to Wiers for a few hours a day.....People watch mostly.....meet and greets....hey estimate 300-400, 000 bikes.....Ride through the Wt. Mountains....N.Conway, Kank...take a ride around the lake....Have always enjoyed the week...Usually have about 5 or so guys with me....

If you google Wiers Bike Week you will find a schedule of events.....If you have beento Weirs with your kids....you won't recognize the place during bike week...I am sure if the weather is good you will thoroughly enjoy your trip.....Riding directly at Weirs is slow....but, if you know the area there is plenty of riding to outide of Weirs...

Maybe we'll see you up there...

hey I remember it being camp drum. it is always a good time but 45 min ride in the rain is rough after spending all day at the rally you may want to consider making a campground point central. after all being stationed at fort drum we know you can make your tent water proof.
