Default paint problems with black denim

I have an 08 fatbob and have had problems with the paint bubbling . first the front fender then the lowers on the forks . my rear fender is really bad . THE HARLEY REP DID NOT WANT TO REPLACE IT OR ADMIT TO A PROBLEM .When i turned it in

I've never had much faith in the long term durability of denims. The whole concept of clear coat is the protection and durability of the paint job. Denims have a "Denim clear coat", but it's nothing like the protective clear coat on a gloss paint job. As far as I know, there are no denim/flat clears that would pass the rigorous testing required for OEM certification (for the automotive industry).

Harley Davidson has just told me they will not stand by there product they will not own up to a paint problem with denim paint , Like this is a surprise. please do me a favor and send emails to this address hd-buellservice@harley-davidson.com with the reff # 1091772 [RQID:1091772]. and call 414.343.4056 and tell ANN how you feel . Telling them they have just ruined the American dream . anyone want to swap a Harley for a bike that has Quality . if you have these problems let them have it .

After owning my Lo for 3 months, I was wiping her down in the summer and noticed the denim black oil tank had spiderweb craks in the paint. Kinda like fiberglass when it cracks. Went to dealer and the HD rep said I have never seen this, I said well now you have. HD replaced it.

have you looked at paint jobs on other make bikes? if you think hd is crap, wait till you check them out......

A little over 2 years since I last posted in this thread and still no problems with my denim paint. Guess I'm luckier than Oprah winning a free dozen doughnuts at Krispy Kreme.

Who keeps bringing up these old troll posts? He came in made a bogus claim and has not been around since.

suckered again!!!!.... i've gotta start paying more attention to the date of the op. i've noticed quite a few posts from long ago, but now and again, i'll throw a reply out there without noticing how old it is. arrgh.

and in keeping with the theme of this post, 2 years and counting on my denim as well....
