I have a 2009 Red Hot Denim Street Glide.
I was wondering if anyone out there has had the same problem with the paint peeling on the Denim Colors? Back end of front fender. It started on the outside of fender and now into the inside. When I say it's peeling...I mean it's peeling in big pieces.
Ok, No I have not dropped the bike...nor have I hit anything!
I do have 18,550 mile on her. I have also notice that swing arm is peeling also...but that is just black stock frame paint. Just Wondering is it me or the paint? Thanks!

I've never had much faith in the long term durability of denims. The whole concept of clear coat is the protection and durability of the paint job. Denims have a "Denim clear coat", but it's nothing like the protective clear coat on a gloss paint job. As far as I know, there are no denim/flat clears that would pass the rigorous testing required for OEM certification (for the automotive industry).

After owning my Lo for 3 months, I was wiping her down in the summer and noticed the denim black oil tank had spiderweb craks in the paint. Kinda like fiberglass when it cracks. Went to dealer and the HD rep said I have never seen this, I said well now you have. HD replaced it.

A little over 2 years since I last posted in this thread and still no problems with my denim paint. Guess I'm luckier than Oprah winning a free dozen doughnuts at Krispy Kreme.

Who keeps bringing up these old troll posts? He came in made a bogus claim and has not been around since.
