I would say don't do it. If he can make the payments then he should just save that amount each month until he has the cash.

Jobs will still decline over the next year.

If he works on his credit rating and saves some money the bike will be less expensive buy not having to pay the price of the bike and all the interest.

A lot of times the dealers will add a point or more to the rate that you are quoted and they get to pocket the extra cash generated by doing this so always shop around for the best rate.

NO way, no how for any reputable financial institution to do a credit to a person with a 525 score.

That is abysmal and even with "explanations" it will be turned down...especially in todays environment when financial arms are taking big losses on people with better credit than a 525.

I have been in the business for over 30 years so I have a reasonable potential to be correct in the above opinion.

But to each his own.

Probably not. Two years ago with 10% cash down they may would have as they were very liberal and of course that is all the financing arm, Eagle Bank does is finance HD's and Buell's. But today in the current condition of HD and Eagle probably not.

He'll probably get it but tell him to bend over an' grease up first, the interest rate is gonna be high.

Some good ideas here- work on the credit score while socking money away for a good down payment.

Then go to a credit union not Harley Credit.

As mentioned, with enough of a down payment they would finance, but at an astronomically high interest rate.

Assuming his debt to income ratio is good.

Only one way to find out really..... go to a dealer. Once approved its good for like 90 days at any dealer. Just tell them and they call eagle and get it.

Above a poster said 3 mos after a foreclosure he got 1. I would think your score would be pretty low,, like 400's? Maybe even lower?

But your FICA is really only part of the puzzle.

I agree!!! I got my loan thru a credit union at 6% fixed (GTE)
only 5 more payments
