Default rear wheel fitment

i have a fxst 02 model i want to put an 18x3.5 rear wheel with 160 tire does anyone know if it will fit without alot of modification with the stock fenders and struts? any help greatly appreciated.

Yeh, until some one that knows that bike comes thru, the rest of us would only be guessin. Be glad that didn't happen! In general, I'd say you only have around 2" - 3" of travel in stock wheels/tires. The 18", if much different than the stock wheel, is gonna take up most of that travel and raise the chance of havin to modify something. I'm sure you knew that already since yer hear askin tho...

3.5 is a little narrow for a 160 4" works better.
Fender and struts will be ok.
All hardware will have to be reversed.
Belt will have to be narrower, or convert to chain.
Heartland has a 160 conversion kit that is very good.
This will not be a bolt on.
2 up riding will probably be a thing of the past.

Actully when you run and 18in wheel,the tires sidewall is shorter,so you wined up with the same oveall diamatem as the 16in.The only clearance issues youre gonna have to watch for is the belt to tire,and tire to fender(width),but if u drop back to a 150 you should be fine.

had abuddy 2000 standard went to a 160 you will have no problem with width as far as belt swingarm etc you will have to watch out for heght as bottoming out with the 18 inch
