Last night some of us escorted a young man, who died in service of his God and Country, to his home town of Aledo, ILL. the Patriot guard riders escorted him from O'Hara airport on I-80 down to Milan, ILL. there were family and friends along also in cars and trucks, they came through about 1 AM when we hooked up with them, about 20 more riders in all I guess, all along highway 67 and over to aledo all the small towns had their firetrucks and amb. out with flashing lights and flags, hundreds of people lined the way with candles and flags, standing at attention for one of their own..it was a awsome sight to see a 2-3 mile procession ahead of us in the dark of the night with all the lights..it made me proud of my little part of the world..not much more to say, got home about 3 AM latest I been out in 20 years, but it was for a good cause..

Today I join the Patriot Guard riders to do what I can for our brave young men and women that die for us..

I myself participated in the escort of PFC Kevin Edgin from the Memphis Int Airport to Newburn TN last Thursday evening. 115 miles with police escort the entire way, and we entered Newburn behind the hurst and vehicles the family were riding in with approx 125 riders. The most humbling and touching thing in the world as we pulled through each town. Then I attended his memorial and burial on Saturday morning with another 150+ riders.

It's what needs to be done, and I'm proud to be able to do it for the families.
