Trying to decide which BALs to go with ... the 4 LED version (BAL-1R) for $200 or the 12 LED version (BAL-2R) for $440. Has any one seen both in action for a comparison?

Will they even sell you the 12LED version? Website says they're for police bikes.

 

Save your money, the 4 LED is all you need. I would think a 12 LED would be so bright it would create a hazard! I have had other riders pull up at stop lights behind me in the day and comment on how bright my tail light is. This LED tail light does its job.

 

I got the stanard one w/license plate light on mine and I dialed it down to the mid-range brightness level as it was just too bright on the highest one.

 

I put this one from HD on my Softail and everyone says it's WAY bright.

 

I put the same one on my bike, but with the smoked lens and it is plenty bright!

 

I am thinking about the Brightasslight too.I would get the Harley light but didn't want the chrome cover all around the light.I suppose you can't take that part off.

 

After seeing the Brightasslights I wouldn't even consider the HD ones. No comparison.

 

The four led one is all you need. I have the running light function on the middle setting because the bright one is way too bright. The brake light is startling, it's so bright. I chose the short flutter burst followed by solid light for the brake light. Blind people can see it. You don't need more than the $200 light.
