Motorcycle Guitar Case... Anyone carry?

I have a soft case with Rucksack straps. My Tele has suffered no problems for it. Only real issue is that the wind drag from the case is pretty severe over 30 mph.
I did once load my hard case by sitting one end on the passenger peg and the top against the sissy bar and securing it with about a dozen bungee cords. It was never going to fall of, but was way more hassle than the ruck sack soft case.

Man, I tried carrying mine in the soft backpack case a few days ago. It was like a shark fin up there. It was catching air and pulling on my back. Didnt like the way it felt at all. Gonna have to find something different.

any soft case(with backpack style straps) works fine...strap it on your back with the neck DOWN and pointed out to the left..minimal wind load and it will have no effect on the neck..I've done this with a bass which has a longer neck and it worked fine. strap it tight to your body to minimize movement...p.s. I only use one strap across my body(like a bandelero)....

I have often thought about this "problem" too.
Why not just bolt a hard case to where the saddle bags usually attach? You could split the liner of the hard case, attach a thin stiffener and cover it all with the lining again. For a stiffener, you could use a 2" x 10" piece of 20ga sheet.
Anyone else have thoughts?

I'm sure that you could bolt the saddle bag hardware for a QD saddle bag to a hard case and mount it on the side..... I've had no problems bringing basses on the bike just slung across my back. I've even strapped my light Gallien Krueger 1X12 to the luggage rack for a few rehearsals and jazz gigs....... not a big deal at all.
I can fondly recall being late to an orchestra gig in college ( riding an '81 suzuki GS550 at the time) and strapping my Double bass to my back, sitting as far back as I could go, and slowly riding the mile to campus...... motorcycle parking was closer to the concert hall than handicap parking and I didn't have a sticker to park my truck in the lot.
