Seen this and other articles on it several times.
The ones that didn't use the savage filter I've read say there are 4-6 ozs left in the engine that mixes with new oil.
The one the did use the savage puck claim theres 28-32oz of dirty oil left...????
Its A little confusing and one is left confused on this one...

I don't see there being a quart left in the sump...maybe 4-6 ounces.

I was going to make my own puck too but hadn't got around to it nor I figured out how to do it. Don't know if I ever will but thanks for sharing your solution.

Certainly if one has the time getting all the old oil out is better than leaving it in there. duh right?. How much extra time doesn't it involve?

I love doing projects like this. My hats off to you 2kids3pets. My bike is my hobby, and if I go an extra step or do something that requires a little time with my Harley so be it. Great work and great idea.

Huge waste of time and effort. Been changing oil in my bikes for 30 years and never had any issues with the 2-3 oz. of oil sill inside the motor. Many have had 100K+ miles put on them and still ran great when they were sold.
