Ed Roth was awesome, if anyone of you read "Garage" magazine this month there is a interview with his one of his sons. He was talking about how Ed used to put him and his brothers to work around the shop and about hideing out in the roof of his shop with a maching gun because the Hells Angels were pissed off about something he said in his magazine "Chopper". That bubble car you were refering to was called "The Orbitron", it was found in front of an adult book store in Mexico and restored by Galpin Auto Sports. They did an excellent job, I seen it at the Detroit Autorama last year.

Good stuff there! I remember buying those car model kits at a place in Irving across from the old Irving (Texas) theater. I think it was MAL's Hobby Shop. It was either there or Skillerns. They were a blast!

One of his cars was the Mysterion - with a big single headlight in a pod. He was a real character. Also, anybody remember Choppers magazine? - also by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth.

I have that same DVD. Very interesting documentary for older hot rod enthusiast. I am also lucky enough to have met Ed Roth about a year or two before his death. I managed to hang on to an autographed picture he signed for my Son and I. A very personable person especially toward the kids.

Great thread!!
Not directly RF related, but I think you guys might like it...
A guy near my house bought a Batmobile replica and I've seen it on the road a couple
times but never had a camera with me when I did. But I did find a home video..
