Default anybody use an oil temp dipstick?

the $130.00 digital ones which need batteries don't make no sense to me. i do like the $29.95 analog one, though. seems to me i'd get one before i got a cooler or switched to synthetic oil so i'd know if they did any good or not.

Lots of posts on this subject. Do a search. I have one and got lucky that it works. Wouldn't buy it again but prolly the analog model you are talking of.

I have an analog one. It only gives you the oil temp. It doesn't actually do anything. It's nice to check once in awile on hot days. Oil cooler helps keep oil cooler. Not sure they are neccessary. Most people I know do not have one. I run synthetic oil. the analog one is cheap enough to make it a neat little addition. The digital one is kinda expensive for me. I mean "189" degrees and "about 190 degrees" are really the same thing.

I have one on each of my bikes. I like it. I already had to replace one after it fell apart but I do like the push button oil level and temp guage.

I have the digital read out gauge. Still gives out temps but the oil level part quit working after about 18 mos. My bike don't use oil and the oil temp never exceeds 265 on the meanest hot days in traffic. I would reccommend the dash gauge if the money hasn't already been spent.

I have the old-style digital. It only displays temp when you push the button. Of course, it cost less too. Works fine.

I wonder if getting one will cause me unnecessary concern, or satisfying contentment.
