Default chirp or siren for security?

got a 2010 Heritage with the security option and all it provides is flashing lights. just wondering how much the optional chirp cost and how much trouble they are to install. i do a lot off over nighters and have to leave the bike in the parking lot. i'm looking for a little comfort zone.

Go to Radio Shack and get their siren. It's way cheaper than HD, and it's easy to install.

I myself prefer the Pagers . Sirens are just a pain for everyone and can be patterned by thieves. Pager is nice as they have no idea your aware they are at your ride.

I've seen the Harley add-on ones for $65 on E-bay a lot

But yea RS sirens work fine and can be wired very easy .

I have the HD Smart Siren II Alarm with the Pager and all I had to do was plug it in on the 09 Road King. The Pager works well but I think it eats batteries to fast. The other problem I have is that it's not really that sensitive before it will trigger. It seems has long has as you don't take the bike off of the Jiffy stand it will not trigger, I could remove the contents of my saddlebags and the bags themselves I think without triggering the alarm. It will trigger the alarm if you stand the bike up so it might be exactly what your looking for and it's loud. It does chirp when you shut the bike off and has another mode that allows you to do work on the bike and move it about without the alarm going off, there is no silent mode though.

I agree with the Radio Shack siren add-on. Easy $10 addition that adds some peace of mind to the bike.

The Radio Shack mod that is being referred in answers here is written up on other threads on this site by a lot of different people. Do a search for Radio Shack. Easy to do, very cheap, and it works better than just flashing lights.
