I really enjoyed MB but once I heard about the political riff, I remembered what my dad told me years ago... "Only drunks and dogs go where they're not wanted."

From what I hear, You don't want to be a drunk in MB...

Could a city in a Helmet state allow no helmets?????
I would guess the state could threaten to pull some of the tax funding and then somebody would throw the liability scare at them. I don't see it happening.
Living in NY, it seems like a great way to bring bikers in though.

Stay Home is your best choice. MB is the most overrated tourist trap on the east coast. I haven't spent a penny in that S**thole since me and 2 other guys got tickets while taking VRods out on demo rides 7 years ago. Anyone who ever took a VRod out for a demo ride knows that you go out as a group with someone from Harley in the front and back. I was the 5th bike in line out of 10 bikes. Somehow me, the guy in front and the guy behind me were going 25 MPH faster then everyone else. I still don't know how we were going faster then the people we were following. Seems kinda hard to do to me. The crooked cops ended up giving us tickets for " driving too fast for conditions". They were nice enough to offer that we could pay them the $120 fines on the spot so we wouldn't have to mail it in or go back down there and pay. We all passed on that offer. The cops have gotten worst since then.

Not going -- There are other places that actually want us Bad *** Bikers to visit and spend $$$$$. From the Burgh hit up other rallies, like Thunder in the Valley, -Johnstown, PA - Join ABATE and go to HAZEN.. later go to OBX- Outer Banks Bike Rally and then Roar to the Shore, Wildwood, NJ

IMO

I stayed in the Holiday Inn in Surfside Beach last year for the first time and I really liked it. It was a nice place at the beach and very biker friendly. We liked also places like SSB and the Anvil Tavern to hang out... have a great time!
