I agree Panama City is the place to go, after all the crap that happened last year at MB, won't go back there north, south or in between. I like to spend my dollars where they are welcomed, and not being harassed because I ride motorcycles.

They actually want the bikes and the revenue there, and they show their appreciation for it.

FK Myrtle Beach. I hate to say it but I still cant figure how the rest of SC lets a city make their own traffic laws so I avoid the state as much as I can, sad because there are soem good rides there and the people are very nice in general.

I stay in the city, have for the past 20 years, and will this year. Several years in a row, I stayed at the Camelot. I like it because it is close to downtown, so I could walk to a few different bars if drinking. I also like it because the parking garage is on the front of the building, instead of across the street. They reserve a couple of floors for bike only parking and hire security to patrol the garage every night of BW.

The Holiday Inn at Surfside is a good choice. Right on the ocean and biker friendly! They provide towels and a place to wash your scoot. Centrally located.

There ya go...I'll go back to the MB area when the citizens vote the asshats out of office, repeal that harrassing helmet ordinance, and in general roll out the red carpet and act like they want me, my bike and my $$ there again...

Not before...

My wife and I always stay south of the city, either in Surf Side Beach or in Garden City. You can get from Surf Side to North Myrtle Beach without going in the City of MB, therefore without a helmet.

Last several trips, we have found some very decent and inexpensive rental condos. Last one was a 2 BR in Garden City, on the beach, and cost us $220 out of pocket for four nights. Not fancy, but very decent.

Check out "Vacation Rentals By Owner" for the Grand Strand.

I have been to MB several times during the spring and fall rallys and always enjoyed them however it is likely they will never see another dollar from me.

With that said if you go stay out of the city limits unless you have a dot helmet and 100% legal exhaust. And be careful booking a place in north MB, alot of the complexes are not biker friendly, they will take your money but make you park at a remote lot down the street.

Won't ever go to MB again. My buddies got stuff ripped off their bikes and got hassled by cops on top of it. MB doesn't want motorcyclist, maybe the rally folks do but, who wants to go around bypasses and hope you don't get caught in MB proper without a helmet. Plenty of other places to go where you are welcome.

Used to love MB. This past fall was my last unless things change, I definitly gave my money to Murrells Inlet, bought a shirt that said Murrells Inlet fall rally, but with places like Hogenrocktober going on at the same time, why would I go to MB to hang out with the 30 or so people that showed up this year. 4 nights in a row went to Rat Hole and the only guy there was the bartender, thats right the bartender was a guy. Waste of my time and money. Wait a few weeks and go to Laconia.
