Default I have a question about a FI enrichment device.

Hello all.

I have a question now about a FI enrichment device.
I have got it from a guy I know.
When I'm riding my FXSTB in sumer the engine is always very hot!!
So my legs are also hot and uncomfortable.
So I want to cool the engine more than now.
So if I actually used the FI enrichment device can I cool the engine?
I really want to know about it.
Can someone tell me about it?

Yes that will definitly help,a lean engine tends to run hot then a engine that is running rich.I put in a Dobeck system and it made my engine run alot better and cooler. The Dobeck is great for a stock motor with pipes and a breather. if you have a modified motor i would look some where else

Start by reading this http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/m...efi_basics.htm. And then get yourself a set of these, http://www.nightrider.com/parts/. The Xied's really do work and do not break the bank. There is a huge thread about these here, https://www.hdforums.com/forum/elect...ield-test.html. Any Questions just P.M. me. Good luck.

Thanks for giving nice advices jerseyjimk and Just Dave.
I use a drilled US's muffler so I think the temperature will be hot.
Especially Japanese summer is pretty hot!!
I have hoped that I can change the engine temp.
As you said I will use the FI enrichment device which is XiED.
The engine temp will be cooler than now.
Thanks again.

The XIED's help, I have seen proof of this,..... but they don't cure all the heat. Well worth the low price for sure.

The stock cam is a big part of the heat problem. They are designed to burn as much of the fuel and pollutants as possible (to satisfy the EPA).
Changing cams along with a good tune, is often the cure-all of the heat problem.

Default I understand.

Thanks Faast Ed and oct1949.

I understand that I have to change another some parts too.
Anyway first, I will test the XiED because I got it without money.
The guy I know gave me it.
I hope even a little the engine will be cooler than now for Japanese crazy summer.
Have you experienced the Japanese summer?
It's soooooooooooo uncomfortable.
It is sooooooooooooo humid!!
I hate the Japanese summer even though I like other seasons.

Thanks.

If you want the XiEDs, order them directly from Nightrider, not from a dealer in Japan. You will save about 5,000 yen, plus whatever you save from buying in yen. They only charge a few bucks to send them internationally and the Google checkout is very user friendly - all in Japanese, if you so desire.

You can also add an oil cooler on the bike, I know some folks don't like them but they will help cool the oil temp as well, be sure to run a good pure synthetic oil as well if you're not already, this will lower the motor temps too, every little degree removed adds up.

One other thought, but they usually don't look too good is an electric fan for the motor if the temps in your area are that extreme, there's some fairly small high output fans on the market.

Default I will try them little by little.

Thanks HoggyMtnBreakdown and John TN.

I'm so happy because many guys gave me nice messages.
Thanks again.

HoggyMtnBreakdown.
I already got the XiED here Japan from a guy I know.
So I will attach it on my one tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

John TN.
I know them too but they are not so popular here Japan even though I don't know why.
I think they might think attaching the oil cooler doesn't look cool. Ha ha.
I know it helps cooling down too.
When I had the chance and money I would try to think about them too.

Anyway, I will test my XiED.
