Default Firefighter editions

I am new to this forum. I just ordered a new 07 Firefighter Ultra last Thursday. I haven't seen much about them on this forum. Has anybody ordered one lately or have one now? The dealer told me it would be 8 to 12 weeks before I got it. That seems like a long time to wait. I have a couple of other bikes to ride but I am really looking forward to the new ride. I have been a Honda purest so far. This will be my first Harley in 44 years of riding track and street.

Got an 05 a couple of weeks ago. Not a firefighter, just thought it was a sharp bike. I've put about a 1000 miles on it so far and love it. Get lots of compliments on it.

8 - 12 weeks does not sound unreasonable. I would suspect that the LEO or FireFighter edition is not something that they keep on the showroom floor.

I could have sworn a member or two had the LEO versions...

I have a 2005 POSE. took me less than a month to get it. It is my understanding that these bikes are not made until you order, send in your paperwork and get approved.

Regards,

Bill

The special edition bike are the same as the "regular" bikes except for the paint color, badging, and price. Often times there is a restriction on resale for a year. Enjoy your new bike

I put my order in for an 07 Heritage Classic Firefighter Edition on 05/22. The dealer told me it would be around the end of July or middle of August before I was riding it. I talked to him again on 07/14 he told me he still does not have a delivery date but he thinks he will know something this week. This is my first Harley too and I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. When I do get my ride I'll post it on this site. Hope you hear about your new ride soon.

Any ultra clasic is a nice ride and eye candy for all harley enthusiast, but I wasn't too fond of that color red , but that is my opinion and mine only. When I finally did purchase a harley i knew i wasnt able to pay the new price, sales tax and evenually the extra's that you know you'd buy evenually, so I settle for the 03 ultra, lower sales tax and 6k of extra's all included and very happy in doing so. What i don't know if there is much if any diff. in the 03 and the 07.

I had heard that one of the differences was that the Special Edition's had a Dyno'd engine.

One other thing I don't understand is that, I had been told that only police officers could buy a Police Edition. The '03 Ultra Classic Police Edition I have was bought new by someone that was not a police officer or even associated with a police department.

Is having the dyno'd adition a good thing? To answer your question about firefighter/police officers additions, you have to be commissioned to buy and hold for one yr. before able to sale.
