1st Harley you ever rode?

First Harley I ever rode was a 1958 Dresser, blue with all the trimings. I was scared to the point my Dad bribed me with a one dollar bill. That was in 1959 and a dollar bill was "big money." First Harley I ever drove was in 1975, it was a 1962 Dresser, blue also. It was quite a shock after having ridden only Triumph Twins for a couple years

The first I rode was my current bike, 2003 fxst. I came from sportbikes and I had a 06 yamaha fz1 up until a few weeks ago. I decided to get a harley and the only dealer I found that would trade was 3 hours away. Me and a friend rode our bikes 3 hours to check out the softail. I ended up trading and riding the harley home.

1972 XLCH. Late fall of 1971, I was riding my 1965 BSA and it started raining as I was riding past Illinois Harley Davidson. I pulled over and went inside to wait for the rain to stop. Next thing I knew, I was handing the guy $50 to hold the bike for me. Came back next day with $2,050 (total OTD price) and rode my new 1000CC AMF sportster home. Spent the entire summer of 1972 touring the western US before going into the army. Sure wish I still had that bike.

Hahaha, I had a 73 chopper just like that. Sometimes at a stop light it just shut down. I still wouldn't mind having today except for the kick start.

1968 XLH. Rode that bike for five years and 30,000 miles. A lot of fun. Rode Kawasaki's for 30 years after that and am now on a 2009 Heritage Softail. All good bikes.
