It was my Night Train, I always rode metrics. I bought the n.t. used, didn't even test drive it. The seller rode it to my place and put it in the garage for me. I went and got insurance and plates been riding only it ever since, and there is no turning back.

 

Remember it well, 1947 Knuck that I brought home in a basket. Finally got it together, running, timed etc. Went inside to put on some boots while it was idleing to warm up. When I came back out, it was gone !!!! My Dad took it for it's maiden ride. I waited about an hour for it to come back home. Dad said "Nice scoot, now go get lost on it" He gave me a 10 for gas. Had to call him to come get me cuz I ran out of money for gas. He brought the gas can, filled her up and rode it home for me. My *** was numb from that hard tail and unsprung seat. Never forget that day. Been Harley's ever since 1974 and I was 17.

 

A '76 FX Shovel with stock bore/stroke, Andrews "A" grind cam with solid lifters, Bendix carb and drag pipes.....Been hooked ever since!

Actually the First one rode was when I was about 7 years old. My uncle took me for a ride on his 57 Full Dresser, lights and fringe etc it was 1957 or later.

Evedently that made a lasting impression, I'm on my fourth one. He'd be proud, but he's gone on.

 

First Harley I ever rode was a Night Train dubbed Purple Rain, it was actually Black Cherry in color but all my friends were fond in calling it Purple rain...I sure miss it!

 

First ride for me was a 1980 XLH1000.

 

It was my Sportster that I bought new in 1973. Before that, I had ridden Honda's and Triumph's that my friends owned.

 

Mine was a new 88 1200 Sporty black of course my wife and I rode off of Auburn Harley lot in April of 88. Then to a 92 Ultra then a 06 Ultra.
