A lot of good advice here. But at the end of the day you want what you want. A few months ago I was sitting on 3 grand and picked up a 1988 Sportster 883 with the 1200 conversion. I just missed out on a 2003 883 but found the one I have now. I am happy with my bike. Its light weight and fast. Eventually I would like a bigger bike but fact of the matter is mine is paid for, so I am happy with it. Yes it needs tinkering sometimes but all bikes do and I can do it myself.

By your comments I assume You must have settled for a Sporty...I stand by my first statement (883 is a chicks bike or for man of small stature) which are you?

touched a nerve huh? i have a 1200 sporty anyway not an 883... frankly i think your orange RUB mobile is more of a chick's bike than a nicely customized sporty... we all have our opinions and i stand by mine that most dudes who call a sporty a chicks bike probably can't even change their own oil and think customizing a bike is buying the biggest chrome package from the stealership...

or they're just d*cks who like to rip peoples bikes anonymously on the internet...

Settled? I never settle for ****. I've been modding 883's for over 20 years. All it takes is about 6 grand (bike price included) to shut up any BT poser at the track. I'm 5' 11" and 210 lbs.

Would suck having your *** whipped by a chicks bike wouldn't it. OH I'm also pushing 50 so lets not hear all that BS about cruising.

No nerve touched....I'm not the one that came in here and started cutting someone else down.(you seem to always do that) I made a statement and stand behind it. If you're a 5'10 180 lb man a Sporty may be fine, I'm 6'3" and weigh in at 245 and even with 3" extension on my Deuce I still feel like I could use a bit more stretch.

you've called sporty's "chick bikes" in several threads, why you feel the need to try to emasculate others by calling their bike a "chick's bike" and then state how big of a man you are is between you and your therapist pal i couldn't care less...... pot meet kettle, sure calling sporty's a "chick's bike" isn't cutting someones bike o.k. and you've done it enough times on this site you are bordering on troll territory.

but now i'm here cutting your bike? you threw the gauntlet down sorry what did you expect? and are most women 5'10 180?
