Default adapting a 2000 Fat boy rim to run on a 1996 bike ??

I have a line on a set of crome Fat Boy rims off a 2000. What are the changes needed to be made to make them work on 1996 . I know in 2000 the rims were changed . pre 1999 the rims had 3/4 Timken bearings and seals . Has any one made this change , that could tell me whats involved.

The 2000 Fatboy wheels run 3/4 inch sealed bearings vs. the Timken in the 1996. If your bike is a Fatboy, then switching out the wheels shouldn't be a problem since you have a 3/4 inch axle. Check the bearings in the 2000 wheels to make certain they are good, or replace them if needed.

Yes, just the bearings are different. However, you may need to put the wheel on the Dyna to check the spacer fit. Otherwise, you may need to buy different spacers, or cut/modify new ones.
