You know, I was not enthralled by loud pipes, but when I decided I wanted a Stage I to cool the bike down, I decided, "What the hell?" and added the Rush slip-ons. I've grown to like them a lot - I wear ear plugs anyway, so it isn't too bad... However, if I ever move up to a touring rig (SG or RK), I will most likely leave it stock. It's one of those "been there, done that" kind of things.

 

The thing that will really keep you alive out there is being SHARP.

Seriously I think this is a true statement. Several times I have almost been hit by Hybrid cars at intersections (being a pedestrian) because they make NO SOUND whatsoever!
