I have straight pipes on my x bones and 2 into 1 V&H on my bagger with baffle. Can't say I notice any difference from other drivers as far as them paying any more attention to the louder bike. If loud pipes save lives where is the data that shows more Goldwing riders being in accidents than Harley riders. I like loud pipes but don't think they do anything to raise the saftey level of riding.

Loud pipes make noise. Noise gets attention. WTF is so hard to understand about that? It's pretty damn simple.
I love the noise my bike makes...especially when I see it alert someone of my presence....and I see that all the time. So do the ones that are saying they don't. Some of you need to get real.

The one time my EG sounded the best was after one of the mufflers fell off...

 

I spent a week in Oakland. In that city, I would rather have a loud gun than loud pipes...
