My first was a 90cc Honda. ..............I thought that I was a "Hells Angel" when I got that bad boy!

Bought a 1968 NSU YACK in 1970. Was brand new but story was that it sat on a ship for two years for some legal problems or something like that. A friends dad bought about 8 of these and sold me one for 285 bucks. Rode it for a year and sold it for 280 bucks....75 of which went to buy my first Harley, a basket case 45 flat head.

First bike was a Honda 550 Four K, still don't know what the "K" stood for? Bought it off a mate who bought a Ducati 900, of course I wanted his Ducati then, so I sold it soon after for a Duke! The Honda never missed a beat, once you've pushed a Ducati home in the rain, even the beautiful sound from the twin Conti's can't convince you to keep it.

First real bike was a 1967 BSA 650 Spitfire (after a brief warm-up on a Suzuki 80) Man that bike was fast in it's day but reliable as the weather. Was showing off to a friend/passenger (not many young guys did that,eh?) and as we neared 100mph I bent down into the wind and nearly lost the bike and passenger as he had his eyes closed in terror and didn't see me leaning foreward...went on to a couple other 650's, eventually getting the best British bike never made; the Yamaha XS650...

My first bike was a 1966 Sears 106ss (Gilera).
It had no key.Just kick it and go. The shift was on the right.
The night I graduated from High School , I rode this bike
150 miles to Ocean City Md... in the Dark...with a 6 volt
headlight. It died 3 blocks from home and I never rode it again.
