Thanks for all the help guys. I just bent it as someone else had suggested and it did the job fine. The fender looks fine too, it dos not look bent. Love the self cleaning whitewalls. Classic. I'll get pics later.

at higher speeds, a tire becomes thinner width wise. Just fly everywhere you go

olts or nuts on the insdie of the fender

Which would explain why it rubbed less on the freeway than it did when I went around town yesterday. I pulled te ecm tray and got a flashlight to see if there was rubber on any of the bolts or nuts on the inside of the fender, there was not. Turned the bolts all around for good measure anyway. It looks like i'll get a new tire when the money materializes. this is just a PITA. That's what I get for getting the mroe expensive wider tire.
