Just curious as to what states have a helmet law and which do not. I am from Maine and we do not have a helmet law. If you do wear a helmet, what style do you choose to sport?

 

Here in New Mexico anyone under the age of 18 is required to wear a helmet. 18 and over its the riders choice.

 

michigan does, but with our roads it`s a good law

 

Maryland does. Everybody gotta weat one.

If you join HOG you'll get an atlas of the US, and it lists the helmet laws and other bike laws in each state. California you do have to wear a DOT approved helmet.

Aren't there Indian reservations in AZ and NM that require a helmet even though the rest of the state doesn't? Gotta be careful out there. Could be true in other states as well. Go to the River Run in Laughlin NV and watch the bikers cross the bridge from AZ to NV. The LEOs are just waiting for the helmetless.

 

NY has helmet laws.

the first month or so of each season the highway cops are real dicks about looking for DOT helmets.

i wear a novelty skid lid and have never had a problem
