Mine is one of the ones affected but I haven't received a notice yet. I went on the HD site and typed in my vin and it came back that a recall affecting my bike was in effect. I jsut don't see enough of a change from the previous years bikes to have a recall and the previous year not be affected.

In reference to the Ford Pinto? Some will be too young to remember.

Always surprised by the casual attitudes towards fire on this board. Nothing good ever happens when motor vehicles catch on fire. If I had an 09 or 10 model, I'd be bringing it in to the dealership for the fix, no questions asked.

Haven't you boys missed the point? Sure, YOU'RE gonna be 100 feet away when the gas ignites, but the wreckage of what used to be yer perfectly good Glide is now embedded in an otherwise survivable cager full of mommies and babies. The recall ain't for YOUR benefit.

Then there's a good reason for the mommies to be careful when turning left in front of me.

Doubt I'll have the recall done if it's not for MY benefit.

Harleys never get "recalled". They just get some free service every so often

Jimar + 1 That's what I plan on doing also. I don't think that it's a big deal at all. If I have a head on collision, I would hope that it burns up completely. I hate patched up repairs.
