Default Do you know this situation in Japan?

Hi all.

Do you know all exhaust mufflers on Harley Davidson in Japan are more quiet than your country's one?
The restriction of sounds is severe here Japan.
So almost all bike riders often change their mufflers to another one.
Of course there are so many type of them in the market and most of them are loud.
So people who are not interested in bikes hate the sound.
As for me, I will change mine to US genuine muffler.
It is not so loud and I don't want neighborhood to hate me. Ha ha
Although the muffler I will change is drilled widely....

What do you think about this?

PS.
My English is probably not so good. Pardon me.

The stock mufflers are pretty quiet no matter what country the bike is in. That's why most in America change their pipes also.

I guess that's what you call a superstock muffler. Don't blame you for wanting to change it out.

It's really quite wasteful when you think about it. All that energy and material being used to make a muffler that never gets used and ends up in the scrap pile where more energy has to be used to recycle it.

So what's it like riding a Harley in metricland?. You must either be a leper or the coolest rider in the neighborhood.

The exported Harleys have had cats in the mufflers long before the US ones. Thats why they sound quieter. Your English is fine. Nice to here from you from the other side of the Globe welcome.

Put some aftermarket pipes on. Nothing like running LOUD and Proud. As for your English it is better than most in this country.

Don't you have some sort of tiered motorcycle licensing also? Like Tier 1 50cc ,Tier 2 125cc, Tier 3 250cc ,Tier 4 400cc and up or something like that and you have to start at Tier 1 and spend at least a year at each Tier before applying for the next Tier.
