Default Riding Gloveless

Before I begin, let me just say that it doesn't matter to me whether someone does or does not wear gloves (assless chaps, non-DOT helmet, tassled jacket, whatever...) while riding their motorcycle.

I am curious, though, why some choose not to wear gloves when it is cold out.

Earlier today I saw two fine fellows on nice looking Deluxes, both wearing leather jackets and hoodies under the jackets but no gloves. Now I live in SoCal so the word cold doesn't necessarily carry the same weight as say, in Cleveland. But it was in the high 50's and rolling down the freeway, that can feel a lot like the high 30's.

Maybe I just have pansy-hands that need to be coddled in the warmth of a nice pair of deerskin gloves.

Any of you ride gloveless in the cold?

I'm wearing gloves in hot and cold weather. Its part of my protection layer.

50 degrees I am wearing full gloves for sure. My fingies are way sensitive.

Hot or cold I prefer to wear gloves for protection (and warmth). Too many things you can't do if your hands are bandaged up from some road rash.

I always carry gloves with me but end up riding gloveless most of the time.
I guess to many years of working outside on equipment, in all kinds of weather, have left me without a whole lot of feeling in my hands.
Therefore, It's gotta get pretty cold before I think about getting the gloves out.

High 50's isn't bad for the hands if I feel like taking the gloves off. Very much lower than that though....

Dropped off my bike 2 days ago for service then picked it up yesterday wearing no gloves either time. In fact, I dont even own any gloves. I guess it was upper 50's and lower 60's at the time.

I don't ride when it's colder than say mid-fifties or so unless I have to.

I just about always wear gloves. Just feels better. Only time I don't is if I am just going to the store or something like that. I do own a couple peairs of very good gloves: kangaroo hide palms, armour on the knuckles...one pair of fxrg that I like for cold and wet weather. Coming from dirt bikes, it just doesn't feel right bare hands

I do see more guys on touring bikes without gloves but you guys have fairings that shield the wind somewhat.

I rode gloveless this summer on the way to Vegas. But it was 106 degrees. Lots of sunblock...
