Utah, ha, same here, riding to Las vegas Bikefest this year, 19 degrees in Grants New Mexico . I almost wore short sleeves when we left that morning thinking "oh, it'll warm up as soon as the sun comes up" yeah right. Wife and I almost froze, had to stop and leather up, but a little late we didn't warm up until we hit Page, Az. We rode up through St George Utah on the way over. Doesn't bother me much riding around town or to and from work in the mid 20's as long as I'm not out in it for hours.

22-deg F @ 55% humidity....Scrape frost off seat before sitting down...Nasty bone chilling cold!...Luckily it was only 5-miles home...That was a long 5-miles!!! Three layers of clothes wasn't enough!!!!

You don't think I've ever lived anywhere else or ridden all day long in that kind of temperature? Your crystal ball is broken. It's exactly why I said "if I can keep my ears and fingers warm, I can ride all day long"...because I can and have. If my ears or fingers even start to tingle just a tiny bit though, I'm pulling over every chance I get and warming up one way or another.

Back in the early 70's I worked as a laborer at a constuction job at a nuclear power plant, outside all day. It was only about a 5 mile ride to the job, but the coldest morning was 6 degrees. Had ice hanging from my face and I couldn't talk for an hour or so. Had trouble taking a drag from a smoke too. Gave up smoking and temps that cold a long time ago. Now I would say 40 is about my limit. I don't own any heated gear, just leathers.
