Whats the coldest temp youve rode in?

Last fall the coldest days i rode ere 18 degree's in the mornings but it would usually warm up to about 22-26.I went on several long rides out of town and it seemed to get colder on the road next to the ocean. If you figure in the wind chill and were good at that in alaska my rides were -10 or there abouts.I dont wear chaps but wore 501's sweatshirt under my leather with liner, neck gaiter pulled over my nose on the highway, good thick watch cap doubled up and pulled down over my ears, those sun glasses with the foam seal around the frames so my eyes didnt tear up, and 2 pairs of gloves. And ill tell u what my fingures hurt bad from the cold.I hate bulky gloves because my hands cramp wearing them so the 2 pairs of gloves were thin outer wind proof gloves with those thin glove liners. If my neck gaiter slid down i would be fast to pull it back up over my nose cause at mid 20's weather my cheek bones freeze up!For the last 3 weeks of riding season last year there was ice that never melted around the car wash's from cars pulling out dripping water.

We use to ride our bikes twenty miles to work, uphill both ways, 20 below and wind chill minus 50, never thought nothin of it. Snow drifts 10 foot deep, just plowed thru em. After that make a run to the general store for fixins, and on back home. Whats all the fuss about?

About a dozen years ago, Fort Knox Ky to Toledo, 18 degrees or less the whole way.
About 6 or 7 years ago, from Ann Arbor Mi to Toledo. The wind shifted dropping the temps from the mid 50's to the teens in about 3 hours.
I was passing salt trucks trying to beat the incoming storm. Crazy

Close to zero when I was young in the midwest.
Now close to freezing every morning all winter, unless there's ice on the road.
I liked it for years in Ca at 115 also.
I like it in the rain too.
Guess I'm nuts. I just enjoy the ride.
Never had a problem. I'm a senior now.

Our polar bear ride was held last year on a blistering cold saturday with partly cloudy skies.
Ambient air temp was 26 degrees fahrenheit. We road a good 80 miles with the occassional coffee break. It was indeed nipply that day. :0
