Teens many times. Not for long distances, but with a FF, electrics, you'd be surprised what you can do. Not sayin' I like it, but I've certainly done it plenty of times, just to show my kids that the Old Man ain't over the hill yet. Lookin' forward to those nice warm 40's to get some serious rides in.....lol Hello, I am in Montana! You got it take it when you can...

Have done some long rides in the low 20's. Of course, that was with my Gerbings, cause I'm a puss.

When I was 16, YEARS AGO, I rode my Yamaha DTS-6C (a twin cylinder 250cc two stroke) from Washington DC to central Florida in January. I wore an Army field jacket for my outer layer - not good. I had a felt face mask from an Army surplus store and a pair of vinyl mittens. Jeans on the bottom with long johns.

Temps started in the 20s and stayed there until I hit South Carolina, then the 30s until Jacksonville, FL. Snot froze to my face and I couldn't feel my fingers or my toes. I have never been so cold (and I've spent years in Montana, North Dakota and Alaska winters). I can remember what I was thinking then, but I wouldn't do it again without all the right heated gear and a fairing.

To make matter worse, after 3 days on the road on a two stroke 250, I spent my last day on the road in a Days Inn right off I-95 in Daytona. Anyone remember "Magic Fingers" - you put a quarter in a box by the bed and it vibrated for 15 minutes? It was only after I dropped my money in that I realized the bed felt exactly like the bike at 65mph! I had to get out of it until it quit.

I was sick for 3 or 4 days once I got to Sebring, FL. Memories!

Leave work every day at 6:00am. Many nights below 30. Good leather jacket with liner, thermal, jeans, chaps and good gloves. Windshield, neck cover and a full face helmet is a must. 15 minutes on the highway with no problems. After that, the cold starts to sink in.

It was about 41 I think. Forgot a face mask and only had thin gloves with little air holes in 'em. I was numb to say the least. But at that point it doesnt hurt anymore cause you cant feel anything anyway....

10 degrees F, this past January...the roads were dry, and I'll ride whenever I can if it's dry out!
