I wear mine only when it is cold out, like 45 or below. It helps out lots just as a wind stop. Now with mine one no problems riding then the temps are in the 30's or 20's.

Might try these, keeps your cheeks and family jewels warm, easy to get in and out of. Work great for me.

I gotta pair, wore em' once. There a pain in the *** to get on or I should say snapped. My vote would be for insulated bib overalls. Ya know you're going to stay warm with those on. You can even get em' in black and can wear em' when it snows, or hunting if you're going to be outiside for a while. Flannel lined jeans might not too bad either...

Well worth it in my opinion. I also have the jacket that goes with the pants. Even more expensive but just as valuable and comfortable. I rode 11 hours in them in 38 degree weather back in September and was fine the whole time. Have also ridden all day in 90 degree weather. But the best part is the protection they provide should I go down. Wish I had had them the entire 30 years I have been riding!

When it's cold, I put on my chaps if I plan to be on the highway. Short trips, I can manage. Did 200 miles at 32 degrees last Monday and legs were comfortable. I had also picked up a pair of fleese-lined jeans at Walmart. Boy did those make a difference... highly recommend them. $19.95 Faded Glory comparable to $44.00 Carharts.

My wife likes to ride with hers long before I do... and I like it too. When it gets cold, she also wears pants under them.

I used to make fun of them too until one fall when I was in the Smokies and it got cool. My buddies were wearing chaps so I found a pair at a shop in Cherokee. Now I'm a true believer.

Back in my sport-touring days I had an Aerostitch suit. That thing gives the ultimate protection. I've thought about picking up one of their Darien jacket and pants sets for touring.

I did 23 degrees yesterday. Lined chaps, coat, gauntlets and balaclava. Only my fingertips got cold.

I haven't worn chap yet and most likely will not. I never thought I needed them. I see people wearing chaps in the summertime.

I too was a " I don't think so" until our ride in Dec. I picked a pair up and couldn"t believe the difference. Great cold air protection without bundling up. Put fleece lined jeans under and your good to go. I like being able to take them off when getting some place and not walking around with them unlike some other pant options.
