OK - I did not read all 14 pages, but wanted to share that I had a set of custom chaps made by Western Boot in Old Colorado City. The morning after I picked them up, I had a ya-hoo decide to stop on the entrance ramp to the freeway - I dropped "The King" and slid about 75ft. The leathers (chaps, jacket, gloves) got a little rash and my knee swelled alot, but - thanks the supreme beings - I left no skin and bone on the highway.

For that alone, I wear the gear when its comfortable.

HALF CHAPS???????....does that mean you only have one leg???? or do you wear something else on the other HALF?????????? Do they only come down to your knees???? I don't guess I have ever seen a "half chap". Maybe its half chap and half something else>??????

 

I don't think chaps or leather pants look gay...especially not when i wiped out a few times at interstate speeds over the years....in all instances i wished i had them on, instead of them hanging in my closet....hardly ever wore them and ended up giving them to goodwill, since they shrunk..
Thinking about a new pair of pants, as soon as i am sure to actually wear them.
It's the smart thing to do..nothing to do with gay.

 

I personally don't care for chaps at all and it has nothing to do with gay or whatever. I just prefer leather pants more. I've had some in the 70s and if I had the money, I'd get some more. Case closed.

Chaps are what the English call males aint it?

 

I usually try to smell so bad that my looks are the last thing anyone notices.

 

When the temp drops below freezing I break them out otherwise they stay in the drawer.
