What the hell is a HydraMatic?
Saw a bike recently that had "HydraMatic" on the front fender... What the?

Usually that's an automatic transmission.

I believe that HyrdaMatic was the original name for the GM automatic transmission. My parents cars in the 50's had a HydraMatic transmission.
Perhaps that bike's owner found a medallion off an old GM car and put it on the bike.

...and that's my lesson learned today ! Thanks to both who responded.
I can remember the first time I saw the term "***" used on a Triumph (triplesonline) forum.
Definitely a different meaning across the pond. It meant "cigarette."
