Probably for every Harley running the latest 'super duper' oil there are 50 bikes using regular old HD360 or Castrol GTX 20W50, and they are perfectly content and happy cruising down the highway for tens of thousands of trouble free miles.
+1 'xactly! Good old HD-60 and Castrol GTX have been pushin' my shovels for 35 years and I have never seen an oil related problem. I've mixed the two, not flushed during oil changes and have run them past the 3000 mile mark between changes. Quick, someone call the maintenance police and turn me in, my statement has probably voided the warranty on the new RK because of my past practices. I'll bet a lot of you don't have memories of not havin' enough money to afford an oil change much less worry about the oil itself. They're Harleys, not frickin' masterpieces that need "kid glove" care.

This might harken back to the old days of the castor based oils like the old Castrol R oil. If run in a 4 stroke it worked well but would turn into a sort of rubber gook if mixed with dino oil. Very bad. Don't think you can buy Castrol R any more. I used to burn it in my 2 strokes as it smelt cool !

I been driving for the last 40yrs and I only
met one person with a oil related issue. He never
changed it and the vehicle took a dump.
People get so fired up over different brands
just change it with whats recomended when you need to. IMO.
