Default Battery Tender as Electronics Charger

I have a cigarette outlet adapter for my battery tender that I want to use to charge electronics on my overnight camping trips (cell phone, iPod, DVD player - got to have something to do in the tent). I have a trip coming up and wanted to know if there would be any long term issues for my battery if I used it over a two week period as a battery charging source? Thanks for sharing any experience you may have with this.

That shouldn't be a problem unless the battery on your bike is not in top shelf condition. If you have been using a Battery Tender on the battery while parked at home, that's good. But never assume the battery is always in good enough condition to run accessories without the engine running. It doesn't take a lot to drain a motorcycle battery.

I wouldn't use it to charge anything without the bike running. Just get yourself an extension for your battery tender pigtail and charge whatever needs charging while you are on the move.

If you have your "Battery Tender" and a campsite with power just plug in and charge away!

Nice idea, but one that might get you stranded. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

THAT scenario, looks like it 'should be' your 3rd choice.

FIRST choice - IF you can, charge it whilst you are riding, for the day.

SECOND choice - Use the scoot, at the campsite NEXT to your's !!!!

Cell foam, wouldn't give it a second thought. BUT I don't mess with DVD playas, etc, so can't speak to how much it draws to charge, BUT my guess is, NOT as much as the scoot batt has, BUT JMFUO !!!!!!!

AS posted, run them DOWN, and then do the charge thang, while you STILL have access to the grudge/charger.

IF you do the 3rd choice, and it drains the batt, HERE YA GO:
(It's "running", as WE post, here!!!!!)

I do it a lot. I stretch the charger cord into my saddle bag and let my phone charge in there while riding.
