Non Dealer Local Wrenches

Non Dealer Local Wrenches
I'm admittedly new to the Harley scene. One of the things I've learned is that it seems to me that because HD Engines are some of the most well known, and supported engines in history, that many "independent" mechanics have taken up the craft and created their own side business. As their expertise grew more folks sought them out and bada-bing, they arrive at the "local guru" status, and those 'in the know' about the local scene take their bikes for service to these guru's almost exclusively.
How many folks here have a favorite non dealer "local wrench guru"?

I have some friends with some pretty impressive shops at home. I mean almost better equipped then a dealer. I haven't had any need for any major work at this point but when I do I'll be looking them up first. It's a great way to learn yourself while having a knowledable friend help. Unless it's still under warranty of course. All the small maintenance stuff I do myself.

I use one..... Hes a certified HD mech and can perform warrenty repair if needed. Hes alot cheaper than the stealer and does great work. Only problem is hes appt only and you have to book months in advance for anything, unless its a safety related issue; brakes, tires, etc.

I have a guy who rides and works on HD. Builds old Indians from the frame up. and is also a licensed mechanic.
1/3 the cost of the dealer and a $hit load more fun to visit.
