Default Why is the Harley SE heavy breather so expensive?

I want one but holy crap that's a lot of $ for that thing. Is it made of gold and plated with chrome?

Chrome and Gold plate has nothing to do with the price!! The Brand HD does!

Shaq you should know by now. If it has HD it is double what it should be. Check the aftermarket.

Or, it could be the high manufacturing standards that Harley imposes no matter who makes it (like off shore). Everyone keeps knocking HD parts but I think they are the highest quality you can get.(IMOP)

i would have to agree on the HD price thing. i was reluctant to buy mine when my air cleaner cover went rolling down the road, but after pricing out the stock part which was about 220.00 + i figured it was a no brainer for someting that looks a little different.

That Heavy Breather is quite inexpensive to produce, getting the Bar and Shield stamped on it is the expensive part.
