Finally recovered enough from my surgery to go for a putt yesterday. Had heard the Thunderheaders but hadn't ridden with them on before. They're OK, not what I was expecting. I actually think I liked the sound of my Sampson fishtails better. The fishtails were deeper and more throaty.

Had a friend stick it on his dyno and did pick up a little HP and Torque but nothing to bragg about.

Yesterday was also the first chance I've had to ride with the new chain drive conversion I had done. I did not notice any more noise or vibration than I had with the belt so....So far I'm a happy camper.

I had a black thunderheader put on my 09 Nightrain when I bought it. I had them install a SE heavy breather, Auto tune fuel control and the thunderheader and got 74 HP and 95 ft lbs of torque out of a stock 96. Now that was with only 400 miles on the motor and the rear belt was pretty tight. I've got about 1200 miles on her now and when they do the service in the spring they are going to put it back on the dyno and make adjustments to the fuel controler to get everything they can out of it. Great pipe great sound.

I might add that like any exhaust it gets better with age, when I 1st put mine on I wasnt THAT impressed with the sound, it ran good but wasnt as deep as I expected or had heard on others, but with out motor work on a dyna it was a little light. 17 months later after burn in and a good wrap, its bitchen, very deep and a real good tone and LOUD, I love it.

I just put a Thunderheader 2-1 exhaust on my 2010 Street Glide. I love the look and I love the sound. But they are definitely loud. In fact the Houston Police department thinks they are too loud as they issued me a $250.00 ticket a week ago for that vey reason.

Thunderheader has been at the top of my list to put on my Nightster this year. However, the Vance and Hines Blackout 2-into-1 seems like a pretty nice alternative with a decent price. I wonder how it stacks up against the Thunderheader..
