you can't listen to music and drive a car at the same time?

removed one small piece that wraps over you ear to secure them, put some velcro on the back and stuck em right inside my full face helmet. Was not impressed, they felt okay, I could feel the against my ear, but nothing too uncomfortable. The most disappointing part is they were not loud at all. Versus an ear bud, a headphone speaker inside my helmet just doesn't compare.

So now its $10 down the drain and a continued search for the perfect ear bud.
Earbuds, which are placed in the ear canal are a bit different than speakers placed on the outside of the ear. Bestbuy sells an in-line amplifier that's designed for your application when using in-helmet speakers.

I also find music very distracting. Even when I'm in my cage I turn it off when I get into heavy traffic or unfamiliar areas. And for some strange reason I feel compelled to open the drivers window.

I see these people walking down the street on in the woods listening to ipods. No way could I do that.

Guess it's just the way some people are wired.

I found that wearing ear buds made me ride harder and faster,,,,,,,which blocked out most surrounding noises, which is not a good thing

I generally leave these types of comments alone, but this is such a useless one. If you don't care, keep it to yourself! This thread is obviously not for you.

Thanks cHarley,

I may hit a BB and look for something like this. My buddy has some that are very small and comfortable and don't get knocked out of his year when he puts his helmet on.

Personally, I find listening to some Blues, Lynard Skinard, Allman Brothers, of similar music to be all part of the my riding experience. I ride to relax and enjoy myself and music helps me to accomplish that.

I tried everything in the beginning and the only thing I got was a headache from headphones cranked up and I still couldn't hear.. Then someone suggested Etymotic headphones.. They're in ear buds and they work very well.. I bought the HF5's for around $120.. Now I can listen to tunes clearly at less than 1/2 blast and still hear things around me as well.. They ain't cheap but they sure work good.. Very similar to the Shure brands buds mentioned above..

Around town I agree - no music. But on those 10 hour highway rally rides a little music cam be nice.
