Armor leather coat...anyone wear them?

I use a Harley Competition coat with armor and the only draw-back is it's a little stiff to fit into saddle bags because of the back piece. Really like the feel of the elbows, giving a little more support on long days.

I have the fxrg leather and the new Hi Viz jackets, both of which are armored. I leave the armor in both jackets. Really haven't noticed any discomfort and the jackets help me bulk up for a more impressive poser look.

My leather Fox Creek Classic jacket is not armored, but the other two jackets I have are fully armored (textile jackets by Tourmaster). I always wear good gear including leather lined riding jeans by Cortech (also have knee armor in them). They've saved me from much pain twice now.

I started wearing jackets with armor again this year. I had gotten away from armored gear during the last couple of years. The bottom-line for me is, if I ever have a situation where the armored gear would have made a difference and I wasn't wearing it, I'd be kicking myself! IMHO, modern armored gear is pretty comfortable and the cost to purchase it is reasonable in terms of "what if" insurance!

i have an icon jacket, the retro daytona (in black) i got it on e-bay used and took off the skulls on the sleeve and hooker headers patch. it's a good jacket the regular fonzy style leather doesn't really suit me and i like the bursts of color here and there makes me more visible. the armor isn't that heavy although not sure how much it would really protect me in a 50 MPH spill but better than nothing i guess.

FXRG leather and older FXRG mesh, both with shoulder, elbow and back armor. I changed out the back piece in the mesh jacket, which was about the size of a boogie board, with the newer, lighter style. Also jeans with hip, knee and shin armor. Why not? It's cheaper than a visit to the emergency room, and with the modern armor it's almost undetectable.
