Default How much do Harley salesman make when they sell a new bike?

Just curious, do Harley salesmen work on a percentage of commission, or what? It seems that it could vary greatly from dealer to dealer, but after reading about the people they turn away for $1000 less or so i would imagine that it is commission based as opposed to a flat fee. Who has worked as a salesperson at a harley dealer? Tell us the facts please.

This is not a job I wish to take, just for the record.

Well, how many Harley-Davidson salesmen live in 12,000 sq ft houses in gated communities and drive a Mercedes SL to work?

The local dealer here pays a salary with no commission.

Ouch! No incentive.
Must have a minimum quota?

I know they don't pay much, cuz the gal that sold my bike did not want to work in the winter when sales were slower.
It just wasn't worth her effort.
I'm thinking her salery had some "per bike" pay involved.

I think Texas has gated communities to keep all the nut jobs in. It protects us normal folk.
