Good slip-ons that have deep sound, but not too loud
I have Chrome Werks now and I love the exhaust tone, but just a tad too loud.
I've heard Rush makes a good product with changeable baffles.
Can I ask opinions about Rush? And what baffle size is best? I would like something around the same loudness as the Screaming Eagle pipes, but with a lower pitch (better bass I guess is how I would describe it).

Have you checked with Krome Werks to see if they have different baffles for your's?

I use the Rush mufflers and the original 'For Off Road Use Only' Screamin' Eagle 2 mufflers on my bikes, and I can say the Rush mufflers are excellent quality.
The Rush mufflers have a nice 'deep tone', and it is easy to change out the internal baffles to match your loudness preference.
As far as baffle size, the 'larger the diameter' the 'larger the sound', and probably the most popular size used in the Rush mufflers is the 1.75" baffles. They have a nice deep tone, but are not over the top when it comes to loudness.
I am running the Rush mufflers along with 2.0" baffles in my modified Wide Glide, but I also live in a rural area and don't spend much time riding in residential areas. There is a very noticeable difference between the loudness of the Rush mufflers running 2.0"+ baffles and those running either the 1.5" or 1.75" baffles.
Also, for what it's worth, I talked with a guy at a HD dealership outside of KC that sells and installs the Rush mufflers. (They were selling the V&H mufflers but were having problems with finish quality, etc.)..
Anyway, he said they performed a number of dyno tests on the newer bikes running EFI and found that if you stay with the 2.0" or smaller diameter baffles you would not need to remap, but it would be required if you were running the larger baffles.

A lot of pipes out there, just as many opinions. I would go to a bike hangout and listen and see what you like and go from there, even loiter around a popular H-D dealer on a saturday morning and listen to the different pipes.

I have Wild Pigs on my 09 Road King with the smallest available baffles in them,
sound good and deep and will talk to you when you get on the throttle. Got them
from ZZ Chops.
However, after hearing a set of Thunder Headers on a Street Glide at a friend of mine's shop, WOW!
That's what I want my bike to sound like. Deep, full bodied, throaty sound. Aural secx, is all I can say.
