I don't doubt that a bit!!

MidNite you must be an old fart. Yep, I remember hearing the same thing... USA, Japan. Prolly was same one goin during the Korean era also, and maybe even Taiwan. But I definitely remember hearing it was in japan.

Yep, just ran a search on google. Usa, Japan... You can book a hotel room there on this page: http://travela.priceline.com/hotel/P...-94487206.html

I also read that it sprang out of the renaming of a town in Japan, so that they could LEGALLY claim 'Manufactured in USA'

Usa, Japan is on the northern end of the island on southern tip of Japan. Run google earth and you can actually see it on the island.

I'm not going to ask what led you to believe he might have the need for a new johnson rod. You may have to verify it personally if anyone else asks for proof.

Damn. I hope not. I don't feel like an old fart. ... well, except for all the body parts that are sore, screwed up, permanently numb, need fixing, etc. I'm 48. Is that an old fart?

I think I might be middle aged, but, you don't know when you're middle aged until you die. If you die when you're 40, you would have been middle aged at 20, right?

No matter what, you're only as old as the women you feel!

How bout possibly a bad starter button? or kill switch? I had the kill switch go bad on my carbed 2000RG. I was finally able to track it down using a multi meter with tone function for checking continuity. If you have access to a shop manual it will have the procedure to check for engine trouble codes which can be a huge help in diagnosing your problem. Good Luck & Ride Safe.
