cops...HD vs rice

RE: cops...HD vs rice
It's just a different mentality ...from sitting there revving it against the rev limiter (I'd never do that) to wheelies and the Superbikes show just adds to the fire. No doubt Jason Britton is an exceptional rider but the show when he rode in Atlanta was nuts. Atlanta is difficult enough in a cage without having to get out of the way of a 180 mph rice rocket. He has no concern for other people. And speed has the disclaimer that they don't accept video but they'll dam sure show people getting stupid

Most of them can out run cops with little trouble.

There are some however that have the skills to use the full capabilities of their bike. And most of those, are smart enough to take it to the track.

You're giving most of em too much credit. While the bikes may be capable of outrunning the Police, most of the crotch rocket crowd fall far short of their bike's ability. As such, once they hit a winding road, or city streets, they either run off the road, or into the back of a parked car.

It's almost ironic. I really learned how to ride and only enjoyed going to the track or Deal's Gap. Because of that, I wasn't having any fun riding on the street. Riding became boring and that was the major reason I got hooked on Harleys. I enjoy riding on the streets again.

Besides my RK Classic I have a Yamaha FJR 4 cyl about a 145 hp...Never have used all the power and don't do stunts. It's a great sport/touring machine and when you ride it, it's like being part of the bike. You just think it and you're there. Great ride and loads of fun. No, it's not a Harley and one really can't compare the two. I love the feeling each gives when riding but not all who own a ricer are crazy street burning punks.

route2null and I got pulled over back in Feb. (on my birthday at that!). No ticket, just a warning. Personally I think she just wanted a 3-way with us (it's nice to dream!)
